Microsoft Fabric Governance, Part 1: Getting Started with OneLake Catalog
Finding Fabric content is only half the challenge; knowing which content to use is harder. Part 1 of a six-part series starts with OneLake catalog and a simple finance scenario.
Microsoft Fabric Governance, Part 2: Building Trust with Item Endorsement
When several items appear to answer the same question, users need to know which ones the organisation recommends. Part 2 explains Fabric's three endorsement badges and how to make certification meaningful.
Microsoft Fabric Governance, Part 3: Making Content Discoverable with Tags
An item name rarely tells the whole story. Part 3 shows how administrator-defined Fabric tags add searchable business context — and why a small, owned vocabulary works best.
Microsoft Fabric Governance, Part 4: Classifying Information with Sensitivity Labels
A report can be accurate, useful and highly sensitive. Part 4 explains how Purview sensitivity labels classify Fabric content, where their protection applies, and what to test before relying on them.
Microsoft Fabric Governance, Part 5: Understanding Data Flows with Workspace Lineage
When a report shows an unexpected result, the problem may sit upstream. Part 5 shows how workspace lineage helps maintainers trace dependencies and check that the implemented flow matches the approved design.
Microsoft Fabric Governance, Part 6: Assessing Impact Before Making Changes
Replacing a measure or retiring a semantic model can affect reports beyond its workspace. The final part shows how impact analysis identifies potentially affected items — and why the change itself still needs validating.
